I feel like we just brought Ava home. I know every parent says this but it's true, she's growing up so fast! It's almost like she's growing up faster than Isaac did and it's bumming me out! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE watching her grow and become her own little person, but it's also sad. I know Luke thinks I'm crazy but Isaac is already 3 and it went by ridiculously fast... I'm going to blink and he'll be in college.
As long as the days seem to be, I try to treasure the moments. As my every-so-wise pastor once said, "The days are long but the years are short." Even through the time-outs, the spanks, the tantrums and the whining, I try to remember that these are the moments I'll be longing for when I'm the dumb old mom that doesn't know anything and how dare I **insert unappreciated parental action here**!
All that said... Ava just had her 6 month check-up. It went well, she's in good health minus the stubborn eczema that we can't seem to shake. I guess I'll just keep greasing her up and get some Cortizone cream like the doctor ordered. She also had a bit of a growth spurt compared to her last visit. Her growth breakdown is as follows:
Weight: 15 lbs. 11.6 oz. (43%)
Length: 25 3/4" (44%)
Head Circumference: 16 7/8" (68% - gotta love those genes!)
All in all, she's growing well. She's eating solid food like it's going out of style. Bananas seem to be her favorite at the moment but she's also a big fan of yogurt. As much as she likes the sweet stuff, she eats her veggies without making a face anymore and even opens her
mouth for more without persuasion. Can't complain!
Plus, the kids still ADORE each other. No sibling rivalries yet and no jealousy on Isaac's part. The only time he gets mad is when he wants to hold her and we won't let him. Again - can't complain.
