The last page is a bunch of wild animals. He pointed to all of them and I'm expected to say the word and he repeats it. He pointed to a monkey and so began our conversation....
Mom: "That's a monkey."
Isaac: "Uhhh... no."
Mom: "Uh, yes. It's a monkey. A chimp actually."
Isaac: *shakes his head furiously*
Mom: "Then what is it if it's not a monkey?"
Isaac: "Bab."
Mom: "A baboon?"
Isaac: *nods* "Baboooooooo...."
Mom: "Well, a baboon is a kind of monkey you know."
Isaac: *cracks up in the middle of my sentence when "baboon" is mentioned* "Babooooooo!!!"
Mom: "Baboon! BABOON!!! BABOON!!!!"
Isaac: *cracking up uncontrollably*
...and so on and so forth. You get the idea.
I don't know what was so funny about the word baboon or, to be perfectly honest, where he even heard of a baboon in the first place! That smarty pants surprises me daily.
Anyway, he kept saying it, getting better and better each time. Now he says it right "Baboon." What a great word to add to the list. Ha! My little baboon.
