Big Brother Test = Passed

This morning, Isaac had and passed a big test. A friend of mine asked if I could watch his baby for a short time while he got some stuff done for work. Isaac was SO excited when I told him that baby Anderson was going to come over for a while. He loooooves babies! However, I didn't know how he'd be with a baby up in his space, taking his mom away from him, chewing on his toys, etc.

As soon as Anderson was dropped off, Isaac was curious. The first thing he wanted was a high-five. Then when I asked Isaac to help me put the baby down for a nap, he ran back to the room, tossed a couple stuff animals in the pack 'n play, and wanted to give him a kiss good-night. Soooo sweet!

Then the true cuteness began... Isaac turned off the light and shut the door to the room for me. We went back to the living room and turn the video monitor on so we could see the baby. Isaac was GLUED! He didn't move from in front of that monitor for the 45 minutes the baby was down. Well, he'd turn around every now and then to say "Mommy, more baby please." If he heard Anderson call out, he was ready to go get him. So protective.

Then it because apparently that the baby was not interested in sleeping so Isaac was the first one back there to get him up. Isaac immediately got his trucks and trains out to share with him. He showed Anderson how all the cars/trucks/trains worked. If there was a button that made sounds, he showed him. If it rolled, he showed him. If it lit up, he showed him.

Isaac was so incredibly gentle and understanding of Anderson needing more of my attention. He adored him!!!

So, this is a bit of an encouragement for September when we bring Ava home. After Anderson left, Isaac looked at me with big pouty eyes and said again "Mommy? More baby please." So, I told him he'd have all the baby he could handle in September. He looked at me, gave a huge grin and said "AVA!!!"

He's going to be the best big brother ever. I know it.
