Tornadopocolypse 2011

Holy cow, it's been an intense month of storms. We've spent a lot of time in the basement over the past month. Lucky for us, we've been safe and the worst of the storms have always gone around us.

Isaac is really starting to like our basement time though. We take him down there with blankets and snuggle down for a while. We turn on the laptop and let him watch his favorite shows on Netflix... these shows usually consist of Thomas the Tank Engine and/or Kipper (mind numbing for Luke and me, but Isaac loves them). Oh, not to mention, he mimics the sirens for me which is just hysterical.

Last night, when the warnings past, we packed up and came back upstairs. Isaac didn't like this at ALL! He cried and cried because A.) We turned off his shows and came upstairs. B.) It was almost 9 and he was exhausted. (although the late bedtime didn't stop him from waking up at 6 this morning... Momma sleepy.)

If we can keep him not afraid of tornado warnings by doing this and making the time down there almost... fun(?), I'll be a happy woman. It's also helping me to calm my intense fear of tornadoes.
