The Big 2

Isaac is two! Can you believe it? I can't. He's growing up way to fast. I think we're going to send him off to college for this Spring semester. He can brush his own teeth, put on his own socks, take pictures on his camera, steal my Chapstick and put some on, unlock my phone and peel his own orange. He's ready to go...

Ok, so maybe he still has some things to learn before heading off to college, but still. It's insane to see how much a little guy can learn, absorb and figure out in only two years.

This coming year, we have a few more milestones we're looking to reach. Potty training will take place, he'll be moving to a "big-boy" bed in his new bedroom and we're hoping his talking takes off.

He has his handful of words but still isn't talking too much. I'm not too worried about it, but you know... comparison brings pride or pity so I try to not compare him to other kids. He's excelling in so many other areas, his speech is just taking a little extra time to develop. He's a perfectionist, he'll talk when he's ready.

We had a very small birthday celebration with him. He's two. He doesn't need a huge hooplah where he'll get overwhelmed with a ton of people. He's not super shy, but he also got embarrassed when we sang Happy Birthday to him.

All in all, it's been another great year and we're looking forward to many, many more. Isaac is a complete joy that we love more than we could have ever imagined.

"Don't you take my cupcake!"
