First Family Vacation and Developmental Updates

We took our first family vacation to Door County, WI. It was great. We stayed with my parents at the place they have there and relaxed. Luke did a lot of fishing, played some golf with my dad and we went our and explored a little. Isaac had a great time even though he was teething for a lot of the time we were up there.

Isaac now has three teeth and is working on his forth. He had his two middle ones on the bottom and got an upper middle tooth on the trip and is now dealing with the second upper middle tooth. It's great that they're coming in, however, he keeps grinding them together when he eats and the sound literally makes my stomach turn. It just sounds uncomfortable and like he could break the little things off at any moment. He doesn't seem to care though.

He is still rolling to get from point A to point B, but actual crawling isn't too far off... or he may just skip it all together and go straight for walking. His balance is getting much better and if he can be standing instead of laying down or sitting, he's much happier. He'll walk around the room if we're holding his hands and he always has that look of "I'm so proud of myself!" whenever he does it. He's also pulling himself up to standing from sitting... crazy kid.

We're getting the place baby-proofed. I just ordered what we need today and it will be here soon. He insists on rolling to the brick fireplace and I swear he's going to crack his head on it one of these days, so we got a hearth pad to go around the corners of the bricks. Plus, the top of our stairs is funky so we had to get a specialized gate that will go at an angle instead of straight across. Stupid wrought iron stair rails.

Anyway, I signed Isaac up for the local Parents as Teachers program and we'll be having our first visit in a week. It should be fun for him to play new games and informational for me to find out about new cheap toys I can make at him that keep him more entertained than the expensive store bought ones... I'm down with that!

Isaac goes back tot he pediatrician on the 28th of this month for his 9 month check up. We'll get all his measurements and whatnot then. I'll be sure to update!
