I've been running short on ideas of things to do with Isaac during the day. I don't like to just leave him on the floor to play with his toys all day long, so I try to come up with new and exciting things for him to do. Then it dawned on me... I'm an artist... he's my kid... he should start in with art. So, I set him up in his highchair gave him some "paint" (babyfood) and let him go to town. So with spinach and squash he started mixing, swirling, and splattering. He wasn't quiet sure what to think at first because I usually keep eating very controlled so he doesn't get really messy. Once he got the hang of it, he LOVED painting! Then it was only better when he realized he could eat the paints.
When it was all over, I had one messy little boy and a LOT of cleaning up to do. Once I wiped off the highchair, dining table, dining chairs, walls, silverware box, wine cabinet, floor and myself... I grabbed his arms and tossed him in the tub where he splashed even more. He had a great afternoon with all that and we'll be doing it again for sure.
