Luke and I got a lot more work done on the nursery over the weekend. We have 11 weeks left until the baby comes so we really needed to kick it into gear. I worked on the mural and it's almost finished. I just have to put one more coat on one of my fish then do some polka dots on it and some surrounding white bubbles. It should only be about a 20 minute job once the second coat of paint is dry.
We also went looking for window treatments. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to do for curtains but I knew I wanted something more than just some curtains hanging there. After looking around at some possibilities, we found some green curtains that match almost perfectly to the green of the bedding set. Then as we kept looking, we found a curtain panel with little white (variously sized) polka dots all over it. It looked like little bubbles and was so cute with the theme so we picked it up.
We got the curtains home and Luke put up the hardware. We put the green curtains on either side and the white dotted curtain in the middle. It looks ADORABLE! The sun shines through and the dots also shadow onto the green curtain giving more of a bubble effect. We both LOVE it.
Then we needed a lamp for in there. We registered for a small table lamp that matches the theme but we wanted a floor lamp that would give off more light. Luke had more of an idea of what he wanted so I left the lamp up to him. We had a budget in mind and went shopping. We found a Medusa style lamp with 5 heads and white shades that was $15 under our budget. Again, we both loved it so we got it. Here's the best part that made my day...
We went to Target to get light bulbs since we didn't have enough at the house for the lamp (needed 5). We went to the light bulb isle and low and behold, there was a 6-pack of 40W bulbs on clearance for 53 cents! That's right... 53 cents. There were two boxes of these crazy clearance bulbs so I got both. That's all I could talk about for the next hour. 53 CENTS FOR 6 BULBS!!! It was awesome. So now we're pretty much set on 40W bulbs for a while, but who cares. You always need light bulbs.
Anyway, as promised, I'll get pictures of the room up within the next couple days. I don't think I'll have time tonight to get pictures because we start our childcare classes tonight and it's from 6:30-9:30pm. I'll have pics up by Wednesday.
Now we just need furniture.
