However, her attitude is fantastic. She's 5 days old now and sleeps and eats like a champ. She's quiet most of the time but will let us know when she needs something... to be warmer, to eat, etc. She HATES being cold so diaper changes tend to be a little loud.
We took her to the pediatrician this morning for her "day-after-discharge" well-check. Most babies take 2 weeks to get back to their birth weight after being discharged from the hospital. Ava was discharged at a weight of 5lb 13oz and weighed in this morning at 6lb 3.6 oz... yeah, she's basically back to her birth weight in a day. Isaac did the same thing. I don't know what it is about my nursing but I must have some high octane goodness! Her pediatrician usually wants to see the babies back in a week to make sure their weighing enough, but she said Ava is doing fantastically and doesn't need to come back. That doesn't happen all that often. Leave it to my daughter to be an over achiever.
As far as my recovery goes, I'm still hurting but it's getting better. I pushed it a little too much yesterday after coming home so Luke grounded me for the evening. I wasn't allowed out of bed, but I was so tired that I really didn't care. Luke's back at work today for a few hours, but his mom is here helping out for a bit to make sure that I don't push myself too hard again and cause myself some damage. Silly c-sections! I should be back to my mostly normal self within 2 weeks which will be nice. It's killing me to not be able to clean up, pick up or even fully bend over to get a bag of salad out of the bottom fridge drawer.
All in all, Ava is amazing. Isaac adores her and Luke and I can't get enough of her. She's a total joy with a sweet personality. I can't wait to see who she grows up to be.
