So I think we're potty training. I'm not totally certain but there's a good chance. I'm not doing the "potty trained in a weekend" or "peeing on the pot in a day" type of stuff. Isaac is not even 2 1/2 yet so I'm not going to rush the poor kid. However, he's been keeping his diapers dry for a couple hours at a time during the day and been showing signs of "understanding" when he has to go.
For the last 3 days, he's peed on the toilet at least once throughout the day after telling me or Dad that he has to go. "Mommy peepee" is the signal. So, we strip off his diaper, set him on his potty seat and he does the rest. In return, he gets an M&M. Pretty sweet deal huh?
This morning, he peed twice on the pot after telling me and had 2 accidents. No biggie, accidents happen. One was right outside the bathroom door and the other was while he was waiting to get in the tub. He gets excited and has a hard time controlling things I think. Again, no big deal, he's 27 months. Seriously now.
So, we'll see how things progress. #2's are still a little scary for him I think so those might take some time. He doesn't seem to care that the M&M's are doubled for one of those in the potty. He'll get it eventually. We just don't want more than one kid in diapers at a time if we can help it. He should get it by September... right?
