There's No Question

Isaac has never been a verbal kid. He'd rather sit back and observe, point at what he wants and sign his manners. We've never really been too worried about his lack of verbal because he's able to make his needs known (he is becoming much more verbal but it's more of babbling with a word thrown in here or there). Every now and then, I'll wonder if he's picking up on things and learning since he doesn't really SAY much.

This afternoon, he was really excited when I told him that Dad would be home from work soon. He pointed to the clock and I said "Yes, he'll be home soon... in about 5 minutes." When I said that, he held up his hand with all 5 fingers extended and pointed to his hand. I said "YES! 5 Minutes!! That's right!" Then he pointed back to the clock with his hand still out.

So, he knows numbers and knows that minutes refer to time which can be learned from the clock. This kid knows his stuff, he just doesn't like to advertise it. He makes me laugh.

Don't you love this age?!? More to the point, don't you delight in that boy?
