Luke and I have started our baby care classes. We're taking a three-in-one class that covers what to expect in labor and birth, what to expect when you go home with baby and breastfeeding. We've been to 2 classes so far, 4 more to go. They're every Monday night for 3 hours (6 weeks total). The last 2 classes, we've talked mostly about labor and what to expect. We talked about contactions, their stages, when to come to the hospital, what to do during labor, etc. Along with that, Luke is getting a lot of info about being my coach. He's learning all kinds of relaxation techniques, learning about focal points, good and bad things to say to me, how to help me through the pain, etc.
One of the best parts of the class is the relaxation practice. Every class ends with all the mom's to be practicing their breathing, focusing, and relaxing while the dad's all give us massages and help us stay loose. It's not so bad :)
Next week we're talking about medications and pain releif during labor... epidurals. Pros and cons, etc.
