It's that time again... that dreaded time. Potty training*. Isaac did #1 great, but #2's were the problem. He would not, for the life of me, poop on the potty. He'd ASK for a diaper when he had to go. Let's just say it got old, fast. So finally, I basically forced him to use the bathroom. I know, it's not the prime way to do it... but it worked. So everyone and their "What experts say..." comments can stuff it.
So, I wanted to warm Ava up to the toilet. I didn't want to just force it on her and make her potty trained 3 days later. To ME, I don't think that works that great. It didn't for Isaac anyway. Yes, I know that all kids are different but whatever. Oh, and also, I know Ava's not even two yet, but a Mom can hope right? Right.
A couple weeks ago, we started having daily sit time on the potty. Nothing had to happen, just a few minutes getting used to it and realizing that it's not a bad thing. The next day, without being prompted, Ava used the potty at her Mimi's house. POOP**! Seriously? Seriously. So, we continued toilet time... with 2 weeks of nothing happening... until today.
She did it again! She even told me before she needed to and was SUPER excited to do it. It'll be a long road since she's so young, but if we can get her this excited about it now, it shows good promise for earlier training. All I know is that I don't want to buy diapers anymore. Let's DO THIS!
*Yes, I know that not everyone wants to read a blog post about poop, but when you're a mother of two, these are the big deals in life. At least I didn't post a pic with it, right?
**Yes, I know that when Ava is older and knows that I had this info about her pooping out for everyone to read, she'll kill me. But isn't that my job as the mom? Thought so.
