I pulled out my sketch book the other day to try and get back to drawing more and getting my skills back. It's totally true with drawing: if you don't use it, you lose it. Holy crap have I lost it.
Anyway, Isaac was interested in what I was doing and wanted to join me. I turned the page and let him doodle for a while. I asked him if he wanted me to show him how to draw a few things. Easy things of course. We tried a tree, a balloon and a stick person. I would draw it first and he would take the pencil and try to create what I did. I broke it down into small shapes and he walked through each one step by step.
Of course he's 2 1/2 so his versions didn't look ALL that much like mine which is fine. He's 2 1/2. However, a couple pages later, I asked him if he wanted to try drawing a balloon again and he busted this out:
Color me impressed.
