Since I can remember, I've been trying to teach Isaac a few signs so we can communicate better. Every time he would want more food, I'd do the sign for "more". Same goes for "eat", "drink", and "please." He hasn't been picking it up for some reason but I didn't really care that much. We don't have a big problem with communication because I can tell he knows what I'm saying when I ask him to do something or ask him a question.
We were out to eat the other night and Isaac was being rather demanding of his next bite so Luke and I got demanding of him saying (or signing) "please." After a few tries, he finally tapped his chest! After a few more tries, he was doing it anytime we'd ask him. Now today, he'll point to something like his monkey dude and immediately rub or tap his chest or stomach (close enough). It's just nice to see him picking up sign language. We don't use it as much as some parents, but for the main things, especially learning manners, we think its important.
